Animated Poster Series

In this short series, I brought some vintage poster designs to life through animation and motion design techniques. This was a quarantine-induced experimental project, paying homage to some of my favourite poster designs. Enjoy!

Sound design and music by Robert Ostiak

Sandeman Mysterious Don

I love the intriguing and mysterious atmosphere surrounding the Sandeman Port’s mascot. Who is this person and what is their story? I tried to capture some of the intrigue in this short animation.

Perrier C’est Fou

I love the vibrant colours and shapes that Bernard uses in these Perrier campaigns!

Original artwork by Bernard Villemot, c.1976 / c.1982

Martini Temptation

The angel and devil campaign for Martini is so full of mischievous charm that I couldn’t resist bringing it to life with a bit of comedy.

Original artwork by Francois Marcou, c1954

Campari Soda

Depero’s work is so bold, bizarre and full of personality! I really loved the playful colours and shapes and wanted to match the energy with this wee loop!

Campari Legs

I really love the amount of personality Franz creates with just one eye and a set of legs. Was really fun animating this one!

Original artwork by Franz Marangolo, c.1968

Baratti and Milano Caramelle

I love the beautiful, rich colour palette and playfully elegance of this poster. These designs always feel like a snapshot from a larger story, so it was fun exploring this chocolatey world.

Original artwork by Pluto, c1928

Note: it was difficult to source the original artist for this work. I could only find the credit for ‘Pluto’. If anyone has any further info, please give me a shout and I will amend.
